Russia Proposes to Ban Speedtest. The State Duma and FSB Are in Favor!
Speedtest, one of the best services for measuring internet speed, may soon be banned in Russia. In addition to its web version, the service offers apps for nearly all platforms. None of its competitors have come close to achieving the same accuracy in measuring internet connection speeds.
Now, it seems Russians will have to use "domestic" alternatives for checking network speeds. Import substitution or a need for user data — we can only speculate.
