Answers to Questions: Why Do We Use 15-Minute Sessions?
This question comes up quite often, so we decided to explain in detail why our VPN apps use this approach.
Commercial Project
Our apps are commercial projects, which means they need to generate revenue to continue development, improve services, and cover related costs. Developing VPN applications is far from cheap.
Many users see free VPNs in app stores and wonder, "Why can’t developers make everything completely free?" However, truly free VPNs don’t exist. If a VPN is free to use, the developer is still making money — but from something else. In the best-case scenario, it's through ads; in the worst case, it’s through selling user data or preferences. This is why a paid service not only guarantees quality but also ensures your privacy.
Why Use Sessions?
15-minute sessions allow us to showcase how the app performs in real-world conditions. Think of it as a demonstration of the functionality. For most basic tasks, this amount of time is sufficient.
If you need more time, you have two options: wait 45 minutes for the next session to become available or subscribe to a paid plan. This way, we encourage users who need extended functionality to support us through subscriptions.
Conclusion
While preparing this post, I counted all the servers currently used for the VPN. At the moment, there are 82! Now imagine the cost of renting high-quality servers and multiply that by their total number. These expenses are significant, and paid features help cover these costs while ensuring further development of the app without going into debt.
Thank you for your understanding!
